Community Events
May 10th & 11th, 2008 - Boy Scout Troop 258 of Howell will hold a Plant Sale Saturday, May 10 & Sunday, May 11 at Sovereign Bank (at the corner of Route 9 and Salem Hill Road), Prince of Peace Church (on Aldrich Road), PNC Bank (at the corner of Route 9 and Strickland Road) & Arby's Restaurant (on Route 9) to benefit their activities throughout the year including summer camp.
May 18th - The "One Step Closer" Walk for Leukodystrophy is a fundraiser event benefitting The Stennis Foundation, a nationwide 501(c)(3) organization. The Stennis Foundation is a nonprofit committed to raising awareness of the Leukodystrophies, and to raising funds for Leukodystrophies research. The Walk is Saturday, May 17, 2008, at Lombardi Field at the High School in Old Bridge. Online registration is open now at www.stennisfoundation.org. Registration fee is $10 per person, which includes a t-shirt. Sign in begins at 12:00 noon, and the Walk begins at 1:00. The Walk in Old Bridge will honor all New Jersey families affected by a Leukodystrophy. The Leukodystrophies are a group of rare, brain-degenerative disorders, for which there are very few treatment options, and there is no cure.
